ENTERPRISE FORMS BY LAW IN CZECH REPUBLIC

Basic information about single forms of enterprise according to Czech law.

There are two main possibilities of enterprise in the Czech Republic:

  1. as a physical person  – entrepreneur needs a license for conducting a trade called a trade permit („živnostenský list“ in Czech). There are two kind of trade:
  • notifiable (under authority of  Trade Licence Office – releasing a trade permit, the need to fulfill criteria of legal capacity, blamelessness and being at least 18 years of age)

Notifiable trades are specialized according to subject matter as:

  • regulated trade
  • handicraft industry
  • irregulated trade
  • vocational (specific conditions, the need to apply for a trade license – eg. for taxi driving, carriages, etc.)

  1. as a corporate body – artificially created subject, in legal relation acts as a person; can be formed by people or entities
  • limited liability company
  • co-partnership
  • joint-stock company
  • limited partnership
  • Co-op (cooperative)
  • aggregate corporation
